About Romana

Born and raised in Morocco, Romana studied music in the Kingdom of the West, inspired and nurtured by rich Arabic roots.  In 1989 she arrived in Spain where she studied classical music and singing before traveling to Senegal developing her technique with local masters in traditional verse.

In this enriching journey, she fine-tuned the body’s connection with its musical rhythm when exposed to different music styles and artistic moods around the World. This interwoven, complex, and rich cultural mix can be heard in Romana’s powerful aria and commanding voice, which soothes and caresses the senses.

Her wide spectrum of bespoke creations and collaborations, from spine-tingling stage performances to deep emotional rituals, allows her to complement and enrich any environment. She has lent her angelic voice to collaborations with Cirque du Soleil and Teresa Rojas’ Flamenco company and supported events with Ritual Ibiza and productions alongside John Kintar and other renowned musicians and artists.

She is also a musical and voice Luthier, fixing and repairing tired, heavy, and worn instruments that provide us with so much peace and fulfilment. She works as a facilitator and voice coach for singers, dancers, actors, and people with voice impediments guiding them on a voyage of self-discovery through music and art.

What You Receive

Who is a voice Luthier

This method is for everyone to seeks personal development through the voice.

Using your speaking and singing voice, this method helps release emotional blocks and unresolved matters to allow our breath to flow and carry the sound to a vibrational point where everything is possible; the freedom of the speaker, and the receptiveness of the listener.

How can it help me

If you ever thought you want to sing but you can’t, that there is something that isn’t allowing communication, if you were told that is hard to hear you when you speak, or that you speak too loud or you just feel that the voice is the soul’s shelter… Then, this can be a good moment for this as our voice and body posture works as a vehicle for our energy, and our psychological and breathing behaviour.

We will connect voice and body in one unique instrument, obtaining, as a result, the power to be able to speak your truth and make others understand your feelings.

How Effective is it

The uses and benefits of music therapy have been researched for decades. Key findings from clinical studies have shown that music therapy may be helpful for people with depression and anxiety, sleep disorders, and even cancer.

Studies have also shown that music therapy can be an effective component of depression treatment.  According to the research cited, the use of music therapy was most beneficial to people with depression when it was combined with the usual treatments (such as antidepressants and psychotherapy).

How we begin

Depending on your goals, a typical music therapy session lasts between 30 and 50 minutes similar to sessions with a psychotherapist, you may choose to have a set schedule for music therapy or choose to work with a music therapist on a more casual “as-needed” basis.

Before your first session, you may want to talk things over with your music therapist so you know what to expect and can check in with your primary care physician if needed.

“Let’s seek our true voice with precise voice, body, and breathing exercises, entering our gravity centre in an effective and everlasting way – our abdomen-centre –, balancing and releasing the blocked energy on the top part of our bodies. With this method we will be able to release tensions that prevent us from a truthful and free expression, obtaining self-confidence as a result” Romana.
